For your information:
Our front wind deflectors (Profi) are inserted rather than glued and are built to withstand high levels of stress! Please make sure that wind deflectors you find online include an ABE for Germany & a DTC certificate for Switzerland, as well as a KBA number which must either be embossed or included on the original logo sticker in order to be valid. You can find this here:
Marking: KBA 90389 Type: A ClimAir
Location of marking: either – embossed on the inside of the front lower corner, readable from the inside; or – on a non-removable sticker, readable from the outside.
For your own safety, insist on certified quality. Almost all wind deflectors manufactured by ClimAir for the European market
come with the general type approval (ABE) required under the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) for use on public roads.
All ClimAir wind deflectors are tested by TÜV, and only if all legal requirements are met will a wind deflector receive an ABE.
Wind deflectors without an ABE must be registered separately, which may incur additional costs of approximately €80 - €200.
IMPORTANT: The front side window deflectors in smoke grey and dark tint are not permitted in Switzerland and are therefore
delivered without a DTC certificate. Only the “clear” version is allowed. Please note: not all clear wind deflectors come
with a DTC certificate. Please refer to the additional product information provided with each item.
Material: High-quality cast acrylic glass, available in discreet smoke grey or, as ClimAir Sport, in a darker tint with a silver logo.
Do I need an ABE? Yes. For all front wind deflectors, an ABE is required on German roads, as well as a DTC certificate for Switzerland.
Without these, your vehicle's type approval and insurance coverage may become invalid.
